Welcome to CABA Dog Training & Behaviour!
I'm Steph, a dog trainer based in Dorset with over nine years of hands-on experience working with and rehabilitating rescue dogs. My background in dog rescue has given me the skills to work confidently with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments: from young puppies to those overcoming serious trauma. I’ve supported hundreds of dogs on their journey to becoming calm, confident companions, successfully thriving in their new homes.
My own dog Cassie is the heart behind CABA. When I rehomed her at eight months old, she was anxious, reactive and under socialised. My experience with my own reactive dog means I truly understand how challenging and emotional it can be. I know what it feels like to avoid walks, to worry about triggers, and to feel unsure of what to do next. That lived experience makes me deeply empathetic, patient, and focused on supporting you as much as your dog.
With patience, positive methods, and a commitment to her progress, I helped Cassie grow into a more relaxed dog with a love for meeting new people, thrill for learning new skills and content pub-dog. She’s my daily reminder of how powerful a strong bond and consistent training can be.
I believe every dog has the potential to be happy, confident, and understood. My mission is to make training positive, practical, and fun, for both you and your dog. I want you to feel confident in how you support your dog and build a relationship based on trust and teamwork.
Alongside my professional experience, I hold a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, which underpins my approach with solid behavioural science. I am currently undertaking a Level 6 Diploma in Clinical Canine Behaviour to expand my knowledge. I’m committed to ongoing education and regularly attend seminars and conferences hosted by respected trainers and behaviourists. I’m proud to use only reward-based, humane methods backed by the latest research.
Let’s help your dog thrive and build you the life you imagined with your best friend!
